The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bataan has recognized top-performing barangay justice committees in the 2024 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA) at the provincial level.

The winners in their respective categories are:

Component City: Barangay Cupang Proper, Balanga City

2nd Class Municipality: Barangay Bilolo, Orion

3rd Class Municipality: Barangay Omboy, Abucay

4th Class Municipality: Barangay Sta. Lucia, Samal

The LTIA, established in 1997, grants incentives to Lupong Tagapamayapa units that demonstrate excellence in settling disputes at the community level. This year’s awards introduced a reclassification system based on city classification and municipal income levels to ensure a more inclusive evaluation process.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. issued Executive Order No. 68 in August 2024, enhancing the LTIA system by introducing new award categories based on local government unit levels and income classifications. The order aims to improve transparency and competitiveness in the recognition of outstanding barangay justice committees.

DILG Bataan emphasized the role of the Lupong Tagapamayapa in maintaining peace and order through effective local conflict resolution mechanisms.
